Vale Carol Webb

It is with great sadness that the CTC team of Directors and staff note the passing of serving Director Carol Webb on 28th September 2019. Carol spent two terms on the CTC Board, first joining in 2007 then again in 2017.

She brought to CTC experience at a strategic level from her many years with the Queensland Department of Education and Training in Assistant Director-General roles for TAFE Queensland and Industry and VET Policy. More recently she worked as an independent consultant specializing in Technical and Vocational Education and Training policy.

Carol held director roles on the boards of several Queensland industry advisory bodies and was involved in policy development at national and state levels for policy bodies including the Australian Qualifications Framework Council, the Queensland Training and Employment Recognition Council and Queensland Studies Authority. Carol held tertiary qualifications in Science, Business and Learning Innovation.

She will be remembered for being an active and energetic member and was still attending Board and sub-committee meetings at CTC until just before her passing. She brought a level head and a sense of humour to her role, two excellent characteristics on top of her technical knowledge of the VET sector.

She managed to forge strong relationships through her working life, both at board and executive levels, meaning she will be missed by many.

Our deepest sympathies go out to her family.
